Week 4 of Portrait Class
This week we focused on our proportions, we measured and measured again.
Does the eye sizes match up compared to the model? Does the spacing between the eyes and the mouth match up? Using the space between the eyes and the nose, how many of these measurements fit into the space between the eyes and the ears? Is this properly reflected in your drawing? We kept working at this and kept comparing the proportions of our model and our drawing.
At the end of todays class I was given a compliment by one of the other students and I really had to fight the urge to say that it was fluke (my usual self-deprecating go-to response), I did use measurements as best I could, I made changes even tiny ones whenever I saw a discrepancy. Iād seen the model (Max) before so that certainly helped but the biggest help to getting a real like-ness of Max was because of the hard work I put into getting the proportions correct. And I should be proud of that!
